The Amazing Randi became famous not only for his magic, but for his mission in life to defend science, using his knowledge of trickery to expose frauds from supposed psychics and faith healers, to medical cons and—to use one of his book titles—"Flim-Flam" of all types. He appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson innumerable times, has written many books, founded the James Randi Educational Foundation (Randi.org) and continues to take his evidence public by appearing regularly in the mainstream, popular media.
